Reframing Organizations, 7th edition

  • Human evolution didn’t prepare us for the 21st century.
  • We’re drowning in complexity, uncertainty and turbulence
  • Reframing Organizations provides the ideas we need to decode what’s happening and what we can do about it
  • Take these ideas to work!

Bolman, L. G., and Deal, T. E. Reframing Organizations: Artistry, Choice and Leadership, 7th ed., expected September, 2021.  The four frames remain the heart of the book, and the chapter structure is almost unchanged from the 6th edition, but we’ve edited and added new cases and research with particular emphasis on the extraordinary events of 2020.  The new edition captures the state of knowledge and practice in organizations and leadership as we enter the third decade of the 21st century.  The frames help to understand, for example, how the Covid-19 virus escaped from Wuhan, China (extraordinary consequences of all-too ordinary management and leadership failures: once again political and symbolic concerns trumped logic and data) and what happened in the 2020 U.S. presidential election (one battle in a political and cultural war that will continue into the future).  Find on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Bookshop.org
